1. Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) - Hanoi city

Noi Bai International Airport is one of the 3 largest airports in Vietnam. It meets the demand of traveling to Hanoi - the capital and most provinces in the Northern region of Vietnam. Located in Soc Son district, about 30 km from Hanoi center, Noi Bai International Airport is managed by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), an agency of the Ministry of Transport. It is the main hub for Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Pacific Airlines, and Air Mekong. Nowadays, Noi Bai International Airport serves more than 28 million passengers per year. 2. Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) - Ho Chi Minh City

Tan Son Nhat International Airport is the main airport in Ho Chi Minh City, the economic center of Southern Vietnam. It has the largest annual passenger traffic in the country (more than 41 million passengers a year). The airport was built in 1930. Today it is located in Tan Binh district, 8 km north of Ho Chi Minh City center. Being under the management and operation of Vietnam Airlines Corporation (ACV), Tan Son Nhat Airport is an important traffic focal point for the whole South. Among the routes this airport offers, the Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route is not only the busiest in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia.

3. Da Nang International Airport (DAD) - Da Nang city, near Hoi An

Da Nang International Airport was built in 1940 and is the third largest international airport in Vietnam after Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat international airports. It is located in Hai Chau district, 3 km from Da Nang city center. This airport was formerly managed by the Central Airport Corporation, now under the Vietnam Airport Corporation. There are currently 5 domestic airlines and 33 international airlines flying to Da Nang International Airport such as: Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Bamboo Airways, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Vietravel Airlines, Asia Airlines, Korean Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Dragon Air, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, SilkAir, Lao Airlines, Air Macau, etc… With the maximum frequency up to 200 flights per day, Da Nang International airport has contributed a lot to the development of Da Nang's economy, culture and tourism.

4. Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) - Phu Quoc Island

Phu Quoc International Airport was constructed in Duong To commune, about 5 km away from the south of Duong Dong town center, Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province, Vietnam. This is the international trade gateway between Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. Moreover, being a Special Economic zone that exempts visas for international tourists, Phu Quoc island is becoming one of the top Vietnam destinations. Though not as large as the above airport, Phu Quoc International Airport is still equipped with convenient services and functional areas to bring convenience to passengers. 5. Phu Bai International Airport (HUI) - Hue city

Phu Bai International Airport was built in the French colonial period. Located in the south of Hue City, only 15 km from the city center, Phu Bai international airport became the 4th international airport in Vietnam, mainly serving passengers travelling to and from Hue City, Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam. In June 2023, a new station, designed according to Hue royal architectural culture with overlapping layers of roofs, was officially inaugurated after more than 3 years of construction. Its capacity is up to 5 million passengers/year, helping to serve more flights to Hue, the ancient capital. Currently, airlines operating flights to Phu Bai International Airport include Bamboo Airways, Pacific Airlines, Hai Au Aviation, Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, and Vietravel Airlines.

6. Can Tho International Airport (VCA) - Can Tho city

Can Tho International Airport is located in Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City, about 8km from the city center. Can Tho International Airport have a very important position in the economic, cultural, social, security, and defense development of Can Tho and in promoting tourism in the Mekong Delta. The design of the Can Tho station simulates the shape of a 3-leaf boat of the river region. Domestic and international passenger spaces are arranged on both sides, in the middle is a beautiful landscape decorated with ornamental plants. Flight routes operated from here include Can Tho to Hanoi, Da Nang, Da Lat, Con Dao, Phu Quoc, Hai Phong, Vinh, Incheon, Seoul, Taoyuan, and Taipei.

7. Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) - Nha Trang

For several years in the past, Cam Ranh International Airport was only used for military purposes. In 2004, Cam Ranh Airport was officially commercialized and became the second largest commercial airport in Central Vietnam, only after Da Nang. It plays the crucial role of connecting various cities, countries to Nha Trang, the beautiful beach city. Cam Ranh International Airport is quite far from Nha Trang city, about 35 km north and 10 km south of Cam Ranh city. However, the transportation from the airport to the city center is quite convenient.

8. Van Don International Airport (VDO) - Quang Ninh, near Halong Bay

Van Don International Airport is known as Vietnam's first private airport which was established in 2018. This airport has a convenient location, just about 60 km from Halong Bay, next to Van Don – Mong Cai – Ha Long highway. Van Don Airport is welcoming flights departing from Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City along with international flights from Korea, Japan, China... The airport's capacity is up to 2 million passengers per year.

9. Cat Bi International Airport (HPH) - Hai Phong, near Cat Ba Island

Cat Bi International Airport was built by the French and was previously used mainly for military purposes. In 1988, Cat Bi Airport was officially opened to serve commercial flights. In 2016, the airport was renovated and transformed into Cat Bi International Airport, which is 8km from Hai Phong city and 25 km from Cat Ba Island. This airport is always growing in the number of passengers and goods. Along with Van Don International Airport, Cat Bi International Airport functions as a secondary airport to effectively reduce the load for Noi Bai International Airport.

10. Vinh International Airport (VII) - Nghe An

Vinh International Airport is located in Vinh City, Nghe An province, 7km from the city center. Vinh International Airport is somewhat special because it mainly serves domestic flights. The growth rate of this airport reaches 7 million passengers per year. Although the scale is not as large as other airports, Vinh Airport still operates about 26 flights a day.

11. Long Thanh International Airport (under construction) - Dong Nai

Currently, Long Thanh International Airport is still under construction and expected to be put into operation in 2025. Located about 40 km east of Ho Chi Minh City, with a capacity of up to 100 million passengers per year, Long Thanh International Airport will be the largest airport in Vietnam at the time it will be used.
