2.1. Wi-Fi (free)

Staying connected while you travel is a breeze at Da Nang Airport. Simply connect to the "Maltaport Wi-Fi" network and open your browser to quickly log in with a few details. While the airport Wi-Fi can sometimes be a bit spotty, you'll find plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby with strong connections, so you can relax with a coffee and catch up on emails or share your travel photos with friends and family back home.

2.2. Money exchange and ATMs

Both terminals have convenient money exchange counters located in the arrival and public halls, offering competitive exchange rates from trusted banks like Vietinbank, Vietcombank, and VPbank. You'll find ATMs nearby as well, with options including BIDV, Agribank, and Vietin Bank in the international terminal. To plan ahead and compare rates, you can check Vietcombank's current exchange rate online.

2.3. SIM cards

Buying Vietnamese SIM cards at the Da Nang airport is quite easy. You just need to present your passport to the vendor, who will readily assist you with the registration process, ensuring your legal use of the number for calls and 3G access. The SIM card kiosk is located near the currency exchange on the ground floor of both terminals. There is not much difference between the SIM packages of mobile providers (Viettel, Vinaphone, Mobiphone, and Vietnamobile). One of the most effective plans is TOUR100, which provides 30 days of unlimited internet and 20 minutes of international calls for around VND 100,000 (USD 4). A sim card from the airport will allow you to stay connected throughout your Vietnamese adventure.

2.4. Food and beverages

Food and beverage options in Da Nang Airport are diverse. You can find good local food stalls here selling banh mi, pho, ca phe sua or fast food.

3. How to get from Airport to Da Nang City and Hoi An ancient town

Landing at Da Nang International Airport, you can quickly reach the city of Da Nang, or the charming town of Hoi An. Just 3 kilometers separate the airport from Da Nang's bustling tourist center, easily accessible by taxi, private car, or even motorbike. The distance between Da Nang Airport (DAD) and Hoi An is roughly 30 kilometers (about 18 miles). It's a fairly quick trip, usually taking around 45 minutes to an hour by car or taxi. For those venturing further afield to the historic city of Hue, it takes a scenic 98-kilometer drive, offering glimpses of Vietnam's stunning coastal landscapes.

3.1. Private car

Booking a private car from the airport is not only the most comfortable way but also much cheaper if you travel with a group. A private car is available to book from your hotel, local travel agency or transportation agents. More and more travellers arrange a private car pickup as it is remarkably affordable in Vietnam. You will be greeted by your private driver, who will help you manage your luggage and drive you to your hotel. You should provide your exact address to know the final price in advance. Normally the car drops you off at Hai Chau district, Ngu Hanh Son district in Da Nang, Hoi An ancient town. The price is almost the same for addresses in the same area. A private car will cost you anywhere from USD 14 – 43, depending on the type of car.

3.2. Taxi

As you exit the arrival hall at Da Nang Airport, you'll find a line of taxis ready to whisk you away to your destination. Drivers typically calculate fares using a meter or offer a fixed price. A trip to Da Nang city center costs around USD 16 for a 4-seater car, and roughly double that for a ride to Hoi An. For a smooth and trustworthy experience, consider booking with reputable taxi groups like Mai Linh (0236 3 56 56 56), Tien Sa (0236 3 79 79 79), VinaSun Green (0236 3 68 68 68), or Song Han (0236 3 72 72 72).

3.3. Car booking application

Grab, like Uber, is a car booking platform across Asia. It allows users to book a car, taxi or motorbike via an application. Connecting with airport free Wi-Fi you can download the Grab application. Choose the starting point and ending point, and you will immediately see the final price. The price might go up during rush hour. You can confirm the route and price to find a nearby driver. Although the application is run in English, the drivers rarely speak English. Hence, you need to take note of the car plate number plate and type of car. The price fluctuates between USD 5 – 42 depending on the distance and car.
