    10.1 How to travel to Con Dao Island?

    By speed ferry
    Speed ferries are the most popular and economical way to travel to Con Dao. We can start from Vung Tau, Soc Trang, Can Tho.

    From Vung Tau to Con Dao
    You can transfer to Cat Lo pier and choose a regular boat or 5 * express ferry:

    • Regular boat (Con Dao 9 and Con Dao 10): running time takes 12 hours. Price 400.000 VND/pax/seat, price 533.000 VND/pax/bed.
    • Con Dao Express 5*: travel time is 4 hours. Ticket price ranges from 660.000 – 1.200.000 VND / pax

    From Soc Trang to Con Dao
    There are 2 speed ferry companies organizing travel to Con Dao Island from Soc Trang, departing from Tran De Wharf. The travel time is 2.5 hours, price ranges between 320.000 – 500.000 VND/pax.

    • Superdong Speed Ferry

    From Can Tho to Con Dao
    In fact, when going this route by Con Dao Express, you will still pass Soc Trang. From Can Tho to Soc Trang, it takes 1 hour by speed ferry. Therefore, the total journey time to Con Dao will be 3.5 hours. Price from 520.000 – 990.000 VND/pax.

    By flights
    Currently, Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways are operating routes to Con Dao. You can fly to Con Dao from Hanoi, Saigon and Can Tho airports.
    From Saigon, there are about 10 flights per day, from 5:55 to 14.55. It only took 1h05 and you will be in Con Dao.
    From Can Tho, there are 2 flights to Con Dao, at 11:35 and 14:20. Flight time takes about 50 minutes.

    By helicopter
    Since April 2019, a helicopter flight from Vung Tau to Con Dao has been opened. There are 2 round-trip flights per week, on Friday and Sunday. A round-trip ticket costs from 4.400.000 VND/pax. With 1-hour flight, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the island from the sky.

    10.2 When to travel to Con Dao Island?

    The best time to visit Con Dao Island is from March to September. It is the rainy season but the rains often do not last more than 1 hour. The rest of the day is sunny and beautiful, the sea is calm, so it is suitable for swimming, diving and sightseeing.
    From October to February next year is the dry season, when there are often with big waves and rough seas.

    10.3 What to see and do in Con Dao?

    Explore the beautiful beaches around the island: Bai Dat Doc, Dam Trau, Suoi Nong, Lo Voi, Bai Nhat, An Hai, Ong Dung.

    • Visiting historical relics: Con Dao prison, Hang Duong cemetery, Con Dao museum
