1. Dawn Over The Falling Church
The falling church is located in the diocese of Hai Ly commune, Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province - an area considered the capital of churches in the North. This unique project is located 40km from Nam Dinh city and 150km from Hanoi.
This place was formerly a complex of many large and small churches on the beach, but over time, the waves and winds of the sea destroyed these structures. There is currently only one church left that has been abandoned since 1996, the motifs and architecture inside the church have all faded away.
However, its desolate, quiet, and somewhat ancient appearance is the highlight that attracts tourists to Hai Hau Beach. An ancient abandoned church located precariously on the beach creates a beautiful and extremely romantic scene, especially at dawn or sunset.
2. The Morning Fish Market on Hai Hau Beach
As a city with a long coastline, the image of a fishing village is also quite familiar image when mentioning Nam Dinh.
This small coastal fishing village of Hai Ly (Hai Hau, Nam Dinh) was formed a long time ago. Through many storms of the sea, that village still exists and develops until today and the locals here mainly make money by fishing, catching shrimp, and other sea animals.
Every early morning when the fishing boats return, people here will sell them at other locations around the locality, causing these areas to automatically form fresh seafood markets.
3. Co Chat Ancient Silk Village
Nestled next to the gentle Ninh River, on the road from Nam Dinh City to Quat Lam Beach, Co Chat Slik Village is famous for silkworm farming and silk reeling. According to the elders in Co Chat village, the silk industry here has existed since the French colonial period (early 20th century).
Coming to the village, the first impression is that you see bundles of golden silk and shiny white silk drying on bamboo poles everywhere. Every family in this land can be called a silk nursery.
Their finished silk products are bought by traders from the village to export to silk weaving areas such as Van Phuc (Hanoi) and countries such as Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand. Through many ups and downs, Co Chat silk is still considered a precious product of Nam Dinh.
