A Brief History of Lang Co Bay
In the summer of 1916, the Nguyen Dynasty’s King Khai Dinh went on an excursion of scenic spots stretching from Hue to Hai Van Pass and discovered Lang Co Bay. He then built a palace called “the Tinh Viem Palace”, used by the royals to avoid hot weather.
Lang Co Bay’s Unique Features
Lang Co Bay has a length of 42.5 km, a 10-kilometer beach, and a combination of all things belonging to the best landscapes; white sand dunes, a vast and crystal clear body of water, and a placid sky. Lang Co Beach not only has a water view but also the harmony of tropical forests on giant surrounding mountains. The average temperature is only about 25 degrees Celsius in the summer.
Lying calmly between the two majestic Hai Van Pass and Phu Gia Pass, the morning at Lang Co beach is immersed in mist during the last days of Autumn. In the afternoon, you will see flocks of white storks flying to the Lap An lagoon.

Lap An Lagoon
Lap An Lagoon (also known as An Cu Lagoon or Lang Co Lagoon) is an isolated water body located at the foot of Phu Gia Pass and surrounded by Bach Ma mountain ranges.
The lagoon has a basin area of 71 square kilometers (7,100 hectares) and an average depth of 1 - 3m. The lagoon's bottom is full of shells and has no mud.
Bach Ma National Park
About 30 km to the west of Lang Co, Bach Ma National Park is famous for its cool climate. Here, you can Visit The Five Lakes of Bach Ma, Do Quyen waterfall, climb Bach Ma mountain, and visit Vong Hai Dai. Bach Ma National Park has up to 2,147 plant species, including many rare species and extremely high economic value.
Hai Van Pass
Hai Van Pass is also called the Pass of Clouds because its summit is always covered in clouds. It is 500 m (1640 ft) high (above sea level), 20 km long, cutting across the Bach Ma mountain range.

Don Ca Arch Bridge was built by The French around 1902 – 1906; it was part of the first railway in Vietnam stretching 70km, connecting Saigon - My Tho, located at the foot of Hai Van pass. The bridge has 4 arches, built mainly of stone, 20m high and about 100m long.

If traveling by train or plane, visitors should choose Da Nang as the destination, and then move from the airport/train station to Lang Co, which takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you go to Hue, the travel time will double. In addition, visitors can choose motorbike, bus (5:30 am-5:00 pm), and private cars.
