Over millions of years of geological transformation, Son Doong Cave or Hang Son Doong has become the largest natural cave in the world up till now and possesses countless interesting natural mysteries. Especially the beauty of the fairy scene in the secular world can amaze any visitor.
The grandeur landscape of Son Doong Cave has made this place officially the first and only place that all three world record organizations have set a record. These include Guinness World Records (based in the UK), the World Records Association (based in Hong Kong), and the World Records Union (based in the US and India).

Son Doong Cave belongs to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, located in Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, Vietnam. According to geologists, Son Doong Cave was formed about 2 - 5 million years ago with an estimated length of at least 9 km, 200 m high, 150 m wide.
With the above size, Son Doong Cave surpassed the world record of Deer Cave in Gunnung Mulu National Park (Malaysia), becoming the largest, most majestic, and splendid natural cave in the world.

Hang Son Doong formed on a fault in the Truong Son mountain range and was eroded by the Rao Thuong river over millions of years, forming a giant tunnel beneath the limestone mountains. Cracks in the ceiling of the cave were corroded and subsided, forming large sinkholes that opened to the outside. Inside that magnificent space is a separate world, a rare natural wonder that surprised the Son Doong conquerors.

Therefore, trees grow strongly and luxuriantly, creating a magnificent scene with a forest in the heart of the cave. Explorers named this place "the Garden of Eden".

Son Doong Cave also fascinates visitors with the diversity of geology in the special topography of underground rivers and large caves.
The stalactite system resembles powerful giants with stalagmite columns over 70 m high (even higher than the Arc de Triumph in Paris, France) and has all shapes created millions of years ago.
