Hanoi: If March in Hanoi feels chilly with drizzle, April brings a little sunshine to Hanoi to dry all things. People leave home with pleasure: The high blue sky, the fresh air,... All the streets are filled with the pure white color of the lilies, the yellow of the fallen leaves, the green of the budding trees,... all create a beautiful and unique Hanoi.

Ninh Binh: April is one of the best months to go to Ninh Binh, a river like Ngo Dong in Tam Coc area. There are green rice fields along the river. For your information, promotional photos you can find online are what you will see in Ninh Binh in April. Therefore, a nice climb to the Mua cave to see Tam Coc from above is an unmissable stop.

Hung Kings' Commemoration Day 

Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (Hung Vuong), also known as the Hung Temple Festival, is an important national holiday which takes place on the 10th day of the third lunar month in Phu Tho. This is considered a traditional festival of all Vietnamese, even those overseas, to commemorate the country's founding merits of the 18th Hung Kings.

Han Thuc festival takes place on the 3rd day of the third month (in the lunar calendar) annually. In this festival, people often grind flour, cook green beans to make "banh troi" - sticky rice ball cakes in yummy sweet soup and "banh chay" - sticky rice ball cakes with red sugar cubes and shredded coconut. These cakes are offered to venerate Buddha and the Ancestors.

Phu Giay Festival

Taking place on the third to the eighth day of the third month in the Vietnamese lunar calendar, the festival draws pilgrims to Phu Giay Temple (in Nam Dinh province) to pay tribute to Lieu Hanh, one of the Vietnamese "four immortal gods." It features folk singing and dancing, along with other traditional customs.​

The celebration is held at Thay Pagoda to honour Tu Dao Hanh - the ancestor of water puppetry. It is a joint activity among 4 villages: Sai Khe, Da Phuc, Khanh Tan, Thuy Khe. The two most meaningful events and distinctive features of Thay Pagoda festival are the water show and the procession of the ancient tablets.

This year, the party will take place on Wednesday 15th April 2024.

Reunification Day

Reunification Day is a national holiday in Vietnam that takes place on 30th April annually to commemorate the liberation of South Vietnam by reunifying the North and the South after the Vietnam War. Depending on the year, there may be Fireworks to celebrate this holiday in Ho Chi Minh City.
