This is definitely an interesting place to experience culture, especially as an attractive check-in point with giant brick kilns like mysterious religious towers.
Vinh Long province is not only famous for its typical fruit-laden fruit gardens of the Mekong Delta, unique and interesting types of eco-tourism, but also famous for the "Red Kingdom" – Mang Thit brick kiln. Accordingly, "Red Kingdom" is the name that people give to the land of Vinh Long with the largest traditional brick and pottery villages in the Mekong Delta.

Mang Thit brick kiln is hundreds of years old. Going along Co Chien River from Vinh Long city downstream through Long Ho district, visitors will see brick kilns scattered along the bank. Especially, when coming to Thay Cai canal, Mang Thit district, visitors officially enter the capital of "Kingdom of ceramic bricks". The sight of thousands of giant ceramic brick kilns undulating and releasing smoke at dawn or dusk has touch the hearts of tourists visiting this place.

The shape of brick kilns in Mang Thit, Vinh Long is similar to other places in Mekong Delta. With a height of 9-13m, the ceramic brick kilns are usually round cylinders, with a diameter of 6-8m, the bottom is enlarged - the top is gradually shrinking, looking from afar it looks like the towers of the Cham people. The material to make these kilns is also brick, with hundreds of thousands of bricks stacked on each other and takes about half a month to complete.

In the past, when the traditional craft of brick making was still prosperous, each family owned several kilns. When in season, all of them emit white smoke in the sky. The brick kilns are located close to each other, looking from afar like a beautiful little kingdom with hundreds of small castles.

It used to be so prosperous, but now if you visit the red brick kingdom in Vinh Long, you will see that only a few of these brick kilns are on fire. When the modern kiln system prevailed, Vinh Long's traditional brick kilns gradually "disappeared" and eventually fell into the past. Going along rivers Cai Chien, Mang Thit, Cai Nhum, Thay Cai canal… you will still see hundreds of brick kilns lying there. But moss has grown, dust has covered the ancient “burnt brick city”.
