Majestic Fansipan, the highest mountain in Vietnam

Fansipan is the highest mountain in Vietnam, dubbed the "Roof of Indochina", with an altitude of 3,143 m above sea level. The nature has endowed Fansipan with extremely majestic and equally romantic landscapes.

Located in Hoang Lien Son National Park, about 9 km from the center of Sapa town, Lao Cai to the northwest, Fansipan has long become a destination attracting a large number of domestic and foreign etourists. Coming to Sapa, visitors cannot miss the opportunity to admire Fansipan - a natural masterpiece from the hands of the Creator.

Conquering Fansipan peak is now much easier because there is a cable car, but for those who are passionate about challenges, they still want to climb the mountain to conquer, there consists of 3 main routes, these 3 routes are gradually increasing in difficulty: Tam Ton - Tram Ton, Sin Chai - Tram Ton and Cat Cat - Tram Ton. In which, Tram Ton route is exploited for tourism with the shortest route length, but still has a more diverse and favorable terrain.

The scenery of Fansipan mountain peak is extremely majestic, white clouds are floating, the rhododendron forest is enchanting or the pine forest, dense bamboo forest is like being lost in a fairyland.

The flora is also extremely rich. There are many big trees such as jackfruit and apricot trees that grow densely. These trees are all old trees. There are even extremely rare trees such as Tsuga dumosa and red pine. There are also many beautiful flowers such as orchids and azaleas. Everything seems to adorn the attractive beauty of the mountains here.

If in winter, on the "roof of Indochina" hovers white mist, covered with snow, so the sky is especially clear in summer. Thought, in the early summer, the weather here will be as hot as other northern provinces. But no, visiting Fansipan at this time, visitors are still immersed in a poetic space when the clouds are covered and the temperature is as cold as in the Europe.

In spring, azalea flowers will bloom brilliantly in the mountains. You may not know, in the mountains, there are fifty species of azaleas with different shapes and colors. If you go to visit during this time, it's not difficult to have extremely beautiful selfie photos.

On cloudy days, the color of snow and ice is mixed into the color of the clouds, a white cloud field. Thick clouds completely obscured the view of the village and town at the foot of the mountain.

Fansipan Cable Car reopens

After the rain, the rainbow came. Sapa's Cable Car reopens on September 13, 2024. Blue skies, light breezes and drifting clouds add to the majestic scenery. Cable car: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, the last trip returning at 3:30 pm. Fansipan funicular train: The first trip departs at 10:30 am, and the last trip returns at 3:00 pm. Muong Hoa funicular: Closed until further notice.

Sa Pa has suspended all tourism activities due to landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi.

On September 8, the People's Committee of Sa Pa town announced the suspension of outdoor tourism activities and visiting relics and scenic spots in the area until further notice. Due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, many roads and spillways in Sa Pa are currently damaged, not ensuring traffic safety.
