PLEIKU, EXPLORING THE RAW BEAUTY IN THE HIGHLAND OF VIETNAM
Pleiku is a discreet destination that does not shine with its many activities, but it is worth the detour because it is not dedicated to tourism and has kept its identity and its cultural singularities.
The magnificent T'Nung Lake
Situated at an altitude of 1,000 m, covering an area of 230 hectares and 20 to 30 meters deep, T'Nung Lake is the site of a crater of a volcano that has been extinct for millions of years. The lake, located about 6 kilometres north of Pleiku, is not only an ideal place for rest and relaxation. It also plays an important role for the local people. Indeed, every year it supplies hundreds of tons of fish to the province and also supplies it with water.
The temple of Minh Thanh
Built in 2014, this large and splendid Buddhist temple, surrounded by bodies of water and bonsai trees, is located south of downtown Pleiku. Its proudest feature is a magnificent nine-level pagoda illuminated at night. Fearsome dragons wrap themselves around the corners of the roof of the main building.
