You will meet your guide and driver at the hotel early at 4:30 AM, with a breakfast box prepared by the hotel. You'll then be transferred to Ninh Hai village in Phan Rang city, Ninh Thuan Province, about 90 km from Nha Trang city, to visit the large salt fields and mountains in two main salt-making villages.
Phuong Cuu Salt Field, located in Ninh Hai district, about 15 km from Phan Rang city, is one of the largest salt fields in Central Vietnam. Under the harsh regional heat, white grains of salt are produced by hard-working peasants. Early in the morning, they bring salt water into the fields. Under the intense sunlight, they form small salt mounds to dry. When the sun sets, they carry the salt on their backs to the processing facilities. Their working days are very strenuous.
Dam Vua, about 10 km from Phan Rang city towards Vinh Hy, is one of the major salt barns of Ninh Thuan province, with investment cooperation from Russia. Along with Phuong Cuu and Ca Na salt fields, Dam Vua has significantly contributed to the economic development of Ninh Thuan province and salt production in Vietnam. If you have never experienced the unique and wonderful beauty of Dam Vua Salt Field, you are missing a great part of Ninh Thuan's fascinating landscape. When visiting Ninh Thuan, don't forget to explore Dam Vua salt field. It is not only a major salt barn but also a destination with the unique beauty of salt fields lying quietly under the sun and wind, silently crystallizing into pure salt particles.
Salt work starts early in the morning, before the sun rises high. Salt-makers often race against time and the sunlight to scrape flat salt plots into high salt dunes. Producing pure white salt grains without impurities requires a lot of time and effort. The salt particles crystallize after the seawater in the fields evaporates. Salt making depends heavily on the weather, as sudden rain can wash away all the hard work.
After finishing the salt field tour around 10:00 AM, on the way back to Nha Trang, you will visit the fish farms along the beach road. You might also stop at An Thai village, known for growing grapes and green apples. We might have lunch at a local restaurant in Nha Trang city before dropping you off at the hotel. The tour finishes around 1:00 PM.
