Lan Ha Bay - The Forgotten Gem in Vietnam

Lan Ha Bay is a member of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World (MBBW), known as the most popular tourist attraction in the North. This place has both the wild beauty of the mountains and forests, and the attraction of the blue sea, white sand, and sunshine.

Lan Ha Bay is located in the east of Cat Ba Island, Hai Phong City, with an area of over 7,000 hectares and adjacent to Ha Long Bay. This is a peaceful sea with small fishing villages. Unlike Ha Long, all islands in Lan Ha Bay are covered with trees or vegetation. In recent years, the bay has been a famous and attractive tourist and resort destination for domestic and foreign tourists.

Lan Ha Bay still retains the wild features

Lan Ha Bay is an arc-shaped paradise with about 400 large and small islands and hundreds of limestone mountains dividing the sea into small bays. The limestone islands are covered with green trees and vegetation floating in the mist.

A special feature is that Lan Ha Bay is always covered with a cool green color because the vegetation here grows and develops relatively strongly. For that reason, the bay still retains its wild character and is close to nature, making it an attractive tourist destination.

With the weather relatively similar to the Trang An Heritage Complex in Ninh Binh, Lan Ha Bay is most beautiful in autumn. When the water surface is clear and blue, the temperature is cool and not sultry, being relaxed on the boat to admire the bay is a great experience that should be tried once.

Unlike Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay has 139 small, lovely and wild golden sand beaches like "blue straits" attracting tourists to explore. Many sandy beaches stretching between two rocky mountains, quiet without big waves, are really ideal beaches.

Under the clear blue water are colorful coral reefs such as Van Boi and Van Ha. The calm seas on Sen Island, Cu Island, and Monkey Island are places for tourists to dive and watch corals.

Not only that, but hundreds of diverse limestone mountains with unique names, named after their shape, such as Hon Doi, Hon Guoc, etc. The stalactite caves Ham Rong Cave and Ca Cave are typical highlights of the Ha Long complex, which is also present in Lan Ha Bay.

Relaxation and activities in Lan Ha Bay

One of the attractions in Lan Ha Bay is Cai Beo floating village, located in the middle of a limestone valley. This is one of the largest fishing villages in the country, with 300 households living on "floating houses", mainly aquaculture and fishing.
