Pongour waterfall in Dalat is a famous beautiful waterfall standing in the middle of the mountains and forests of the Central Highlands.
Dubbed the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam, Pongour is one of the masterpieces of the Creator bestowed on the land of thousands of flowers, an extremely attractive place for tourists when coming to the city in the mist.
About 50 km from Da Lat city, Pongour waterfall (also known as Seven Floor waterfall, Thien Thai waterfall) is located in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province. This waterfall is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the South Central Highlands.
With a large flow of steps, Pongour creates a unique and majestic scene between heaven and earth in Da Lat. The valley in the downstream of the falls is also a suitable place for camping and relaxation.
Pongour waterfall is about 50 m high, and divided into 7 cascades, it looks like a beautiful woman's hair from afar. The big rocks, on the cascades make the water splash white foam. The waterfall falls from a height of nearly 40 m, spreads over 100 m, flows through a 7-storey terraced stone system. Surrounding the Pongour waterfall tourist area is an area of 2.5-hectare primeval forest with a rich and diverse flora and fauna ecosystem.
The special beauty of the waterfall is the system of flat stone steps, which are layered, although not in any order, but have "torn" the water source into hundreds of small streams, forming white foaming and majestic water. Below the waterfall is a wide, peaceful lake with a lot of undulating rocks in the middle of the water.
The white water flows through seven floors like a long soft silk gliding through the moss-covered rocks. Looking from afar, it likes a silk picture woven by nature, how majestic it is.
Around the waterfall is covered with a smooth green color, rows of pine trees or thousand-year-old trees and animals freely drop into nature.
In the rainy season, the waterfall becomes more intense with strong water rushing down from above. The terracotta stone layers make white foam spread across the space, the sound of the waterfall resounds in the whole sky.
In the dry season, the water flow is gentler, slowly pouring down the rock layers like soft silks that are dried on mossy green rocks, creating a beautiful and captivating scene.
