Ho Chi Minh City's iconic Ben Thanh Market begins its day at a very early hour. After the main market shuts at 6:00 p.m., the night markets on the side streets open for business, bringing an opening to the night’s trading. It's a great place to pick up some unique souvenirs, including artwork created by local artists, branded goods, and more.

When the haggling gets to be too much, take a break at one of the nearby food vendors and enjoy some authentic Vietnamese hawker fare or a cool drink. Before midnight, vehicles are banned from the road and pedestrians are free to promenade, buy, and eat until the wee hours. So don't worry about Saigon traffic, you get the protection.
