  • Ba Be Lake national park – boat trips and peaceful nights with local families

  • Explore Hanoi’s key highlights, including the Temple of Literature, the Museum of Ethnology, Ho Chi Minh’s complex, and the vibrant Old Quarter.

8:30: Start your day at the Temple of Literature, founded in the 11th century under the Ly dynasty to honor Confucius and educate royal scholars. Stroll through its peaceful courtyards and gardens until you reach Khue Van Cac, the iconic pavilion that symbolizes Hanoi. Continue to the UNESCO-recognized stone steles, which record the names of Vietnam’s most outstanding graduates, before exploring Quoc Tu Giam, regarded as the country’s first national university.

Next, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed on Mondays), an engaging institution that offers deep insight into the cultures of Vietnam’s many ethnic groups. Its rich collection includes traditional costumes, agricultural tools, musical instruments, and life-size replicas of ethnic minority houses. A full visit typically takes about two hours.

For lunch, enjoy one of Hanoi’s most beloved dishes: cha ca, fragrant turmeric-marinated grilled fish served with fresh herbs, rice noodles, and a tangy dipping sauce — a true staple of the capital’s culinary heritage.

In the afternoon, continue with an exterior visit of Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, then enjoy a relaxing walk through the nearby botanical gardens to see the simple House on Stilts, where Ho Chi Minh once lived and worked. Conclude this section of the tour at the unique One-Pillar Pagoda, one of the city’s most distinctive landmarks.

For a delightful gourmet pause, settle onto a small stool inside a traditional tube house and savor a cup of egg coffee - a creamy specialty born during the French colonial era. Made from whipped egg yolk and rich Vietnamese coffee, this iconic drink remains a local favorite.

End your day with a stroll through the atmospheric Old Quarter. Originating in the 15th century as a busy trading hub, its famed “36 streets” each once specialized in a particular craft or product. Today, the Old Quarter is a vibrant open-air museum of living history, with narrow alleyways, tube houses, small temples, bustling markets, and irresistible street food creating an unforgettable sensory experience.

Afterward, enjoy a unique water puppet show, a traditional art form that first appeared in the 11th century. In these performances, the daily life, culture, and beliefs of the Vietnamese people are beautifully depicted by puppets on water, accompanied by a traditional live music performance.

8:30: Depart for Dong Van through the magical landscapes of northern Vietnam, where stunning scenery unfolds along the route.

Before reaching the Quan Ba Pass, stop to visit a Bo Y ethnic village in Quyet Tien Commune. Originally from China, the Bo Y are a small community of around 2,000 people who inhabit the remote mountainous areas of the north.

Pause at the Quan Ba viewpoint for a short break and take in the panoramic views over Quan Ba town and the iconic Twin Fairy Mountains (Núi Cô Tiên).

Continue the drive toward the Limestone Plateau, often called the “mountainous Halong Bay.” This extraordinary karst region is recognized in the World Geological Park listings for its geological and cultural significance. Make a stop at Lung Tam weaving cooperative, a community initiative run by Hmong women. Here, you’ll get a closer look at the traditional techniques of hemp weaving and indigo dyeing - a beautiful cultural craft that has been passed down through generations.

Following lunch at a local restaurant along the way, enjoy a short walk to Lung Hoa Village, where you’ll see Nhà Trình Tường – traditional rammed-earth houses built by the Hmong people. These homes are known for their durability and harmony with the environment.

Next, visit the Palace of the Hmong King (Dinh Vua Mèo). Built over a century ago, this historic residence reflects a time when the regions of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, and Meo Vac were part of an autonomous zone ruled by the Hmong. During this period, poppy cultivation was widespread, and the local economy thrived on the opium trade with China.

8:30: Depart from Dong Van and head toward Bao Lac, with a stop along the way at the Happy Road Museum. This small yet moving museum pays tribute to the monumental efforts of tens of thousands of young volunteers who carved the "Happy Road" through the mountains in the 1950s - a symbol of unity and resilience in post-war Vietnam.

From there, take a scenic Skypath walk starting with a gentle climb to God’s Cliff, offering panoramic views of the Nho Que River and limestone peaks. Descend into a peaceful valley, passing Hmong farmers and learning about their unique stone niche farming before ending near a local kindergarten, where you’ll rejoin your vehicle, and continue to Bao Lac.

    Lunch at a local restaurant.

For the rest of the day, we'll visit either Khuoi Khon or Coc Xa village - both home to the Black Lo Lo people. Khuoi Khon gained recognition through the French documentary "The Journey into Unknown Land", featuring rugby player Frédéric Michalak. Coc Xa, by contrast, remains off the tourist trail and offers a more authentic, untouched atmosphere.

Once in the village, take a stroll through the narrow paths, visit a traditional Lo Lo home, and enjoy meaningful exchanges with your host. This intimate encounter offers valuable insight into the community’s daily life, cultural heritage, and enduring traditions.

Rising around 30 meters high and spanning more than 200 meters wide, Ban Gioc is widely regarded as the most beautiful waterfall in northern Vietnam and among the most impressive in Southeast Asia.

The journey continues to Nguom Ngao Cave (standard route), quietly hidden in the tranquil Maize Valley. Stretching over 2 kilometers, the cave unveils an extraordinary world of stalactites and stalagmites formed over millions of years. Beyond its geological beauty, Nguom Ngao holds strong historical significance—it served as a refuge for thousands of local residents during the Vietnam–China border conflict in 1979, adding a meaningful human dimension to the visit.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we return to Cao Bang, with enriching stops along the way. Our first visit is Phuc Sen Blacksmith Village, renowned across northern Vietnam for its hand-forged farming tools and knives. Blacksmithing remains a proud family trade here, with skills passed down from generation to generation. Using traditional charcoal furnaces and simple hand tools, local craftsmen shape steel entirely by hand, creating blades celebrated for their sharpness and durability.

We then continue to Dia Tren Paper Village, where you discover a centuries-old craft practiced by the Tay ethnic group. Artisans produce handmade paper from tree bark through a meticulous process of soaking, pounding, filtering, and sun-drying. This durable, eco-friendly paper has long been used for calligraphy, religious rituals, and folk paintings, reflecting the deep connection between traditional craftsmanship and spiritual life in Cao Bang.

After the boat ride, we visit Thai Vy Temple, a serene and lesser-known sanctuary nestled among rice fields and limestone mountains. • Enjoy a bike ride through the rural villages around Hoi An, including Kim Bong, Tra Nhieu, and Cam Thanh.

08:30: Today, we take a leisurely bike ride to discover the peaceful rural villages around Hoi An. Depart from your hotel and pedal toward Kim Bong village, a community long celebrated for its traditional woodcarving. Local artisans first inherited their techniques from northern Vietnam, then refined their craft through exchanges with Chinese and Japanese masters, gradually shaping a distinctive style of their own.

Continue cycling along quiet trails lined with rice paddies, bamboo bridges and river views before reaching Tra Nhieu village. This is a wonderful immersion into Central Vietnam’s countryside. Along the way, you meet local families such as Ms. Duoc, who weaves sedge mats; Mr. Kha, known for his round bamboo basket boats; and Mr. Huynh Ri, who maintains a small traditional shipyard. The scenery of nipa palms, rice fields, grazing buffaloes and farmers at work accompanies your ride.

From Tra Nhieu, board a boat along the Thu Bon River to Cam Thanh village. The journey flows through tranquil landscapes of fishing farms and lush water palms. On arrival, step into a small round bamboo basket boat and try your hand at catching crabs in the palm-water channels.

Afterward, relax at the home of a local fisherman, Mr. Phong, where you enjoy green tea and a soothing herbal foot massage using plants grown in his garden. Then, with fresh vegetables and herbs, take part in a hands-on cooking session to prepare typical Hoi An dishes such as crispy pancakes (with meat, shrimp and bean sprouts) and fresh spring rolls — and then savor the dishes you’ve created.

Dinner is at your own expense (not included). Overnight in Hoi An.

Note: For guests who cannot ride a bicycle, you can choose the moto-taxi option with an additional charge of 15 USD per person.

  • Transfer to Da Nang, Fly to Ho Chi Minh City & City Tour: Independence Palace, Central Post Office, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Ben Thanh Market and Chinatown

Transfer to Da Nang Airport by driver only for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and driver in the arrival hall.

During the 30-minute drive from the airport to the city center, your guide will introduce the city’s main attractions and share local insights regarding dining, drinks, traffic, and culture.

Begin your city tour at the Independence Palace, the former seat of the South Vietnamese government. Here, you can view the historic North Vietnamese tank that crashed through the gates in 1975, marking the end of the Vietnam War. Explore its rooms spread across five floors, which beautifully preserve the style of the late 1960s and 1970s, as well as the underground bunker.

Continue with a short walk to the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Saigon, built between 1863 and 1880. It stands as a magnificent emblem of French colonial influence and is one of the city's most photogenic landmarks.

Heading toward Nguyen Hue Walking Street, continue your excursion to another must-see monument. The Saigon Central Post Office is a stunning building designed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel. Still fully operational, it is a wonderful stop to admire the beautiful interior architecture.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

Afterward, take a short drive to visit the Binh Tay Market, located in Saigon's vibrant Chinatown (Cholon). Packed with hundreds of stalls, this massive wholesale market offers everything from clothing and souvenirs to fresh produce. It also features a lively food court where you can sample authentic local street food.

Conclude your day with a visit to the Ben Thanh Market, the most famous and bustling market in central Saigon, perfect for souvenir shopping and discovering local products.

Along the way, enjoy views of daily life on the river—fishing, cargo transport, and local activity. Stop at a traditional brick factory where bricks are still handmade using age-old techniques. Refresh with a glass of fresh coconut juice.

Continue the boat trip to a coconut processing workshop where you’ll discover how coconut candy is made. Taste the delicious coconut treats, enjoy tropical fruits, and sip honey tea.

Take a short walk to visit a family-run mat weaving workshop. Then, hop on a motor cart or bicycle for a peaceful ride through quiet village lanes, giving you a closer look at local farmers’ daily lives.

3 weeks are still not enough!! I will come back soon
My wife and I traveled through Vietnam in August. We enjoyed a perfectly organized week, accompanied at all times by knowledgeable and professional Italian speaking guides who were always ready to assist us and satisfy our questions and curiosity. We had the opportunity to explore the country’s rich history, marked by many periods of foreign rule that my generation followed with deep interest. In Hanoi, we visited monuments and temples and were lucky enough to witness the preparations for the 80th anniversary of Independence from French rule proclaimed by Ho Chi Minh. We experienced a wonderful cruise in Halong Bay, toured Hue and its temples, then continued on to Hoi An and Da Nang, finishing our journey at a beautiful seaside hotel. The people were extremely courteous, and everything went smoothly thanks to the kindness, professionalism, and support of Mr. Vu. The overall cost was reasonable. You eat very well and spend little. I left with great regret and a strong desire to return to discover the rest of this fascinating country.

    The most unique experience!
Our trip to Vietnam was truly unforgettable, not just because of the country’s beauty and rich culture, but because of how carefully the whole itinerary was put together from start to finish. Each day felt intentional, well-paced and engaging, with a great mix of history, local culture, food and meaningful experiences. The guides were consistently fantastic — knowledgeable, attentive and passionate about their job. Their insights added real depth to every place we visited, and they made everything feel personal rather than just another standard tour. Lien was exceptional throughout the entire journey. She really took the time to understand our needs as a family and tailored the trip around our interests, preferred pace and travel style. She went above and beyond to accommodate our customised requests and logistics, always responding promptly and thoughtfully. Her coordination was seamless, her suggestions were spot-on, and the pricing was very reasonable for the level of care and support we received. From the activities themselves to the on-the-ground organisation and overall planning, everything was handled with professionalism, warmth and careful attention to detail. We felt supported every step of the way, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every respect. We would not hesitate to recommend Lien and her team to anyone wanting a Vietnam experience that’s not only well organised, but truly memorable and thoughtfully tailored.

    Viaggio VIetnam
Primo viaggio organizzato da una agenzia. Direi molto comodo e rilassante . Ottimi Hotel puliti e buone colazioni. Abbiamo visitato molti luoghi anche fuori dal tradizionale grazie alla nostra prima guida che parlava perfettamente l italiano e aveva quell entusiasmo nel proporre che non abbiamo trovato nelle guide successive.

Good to know
  • Passeport & Visa

Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of arrival in Vietnam and contain a minimum of two blank pages.

French citizens, as well as nationals of 12 other countries (including Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Spain), may enter Vietnam without a visa for stays of up to 45 days. If you plan to stay longer, or if your nationality is not eligible for this exemption, please check with the nearest Vietnamese embassy or consulate, or feel free to contact us for further information.

  • International flights

International flights are not included in the price of our tours. You are free to choose and book the flights that best suit your needs and schedule. If you wish, our travel consultants can assist you in finding the best available options.

  • Travel insurance

Valid travel insurance is mandatory to participate in the tour. It must cover the following:

    • Emergency medical expenses (including hospitalization and repatriation)
    • Trip cancellations or interruptions
    • Activities included in your itinerary, including outdoor excursions

Before departure, please provide us with the following information:

    • The name of your insurance company
    • Your policy number
    • A 24/7 emergency assistance contact number

Please check whether your credit card already provides coverage and consider purchasing additional insurance if necessary.

  • Weather & best time to visit Vietnam

Spring (February to April) and autumn (September to December) are the most pleasant seasons to visit Vietnam, with mild weather and limited rainfall. However, the country stretches over more than 1,600 km, and weather conditions vary significantly. Vietnam can be visited year-round:

    • North: Cool winters (December to February), hot and humid summers.
    • Central: Rainy season from September to November.
    • South: Tropical climate, warm year-round, with frequent showers from May to October.

Please pack clothing suitable for each region according to your itinerary.

  • Time zone

Vietnam operates on GMT+7 year-round. There is no seasonal time change.

  • Currency and Payments

The local currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). US dollars and euros are sometimes accepted in hotels, but this is not guaranteed.

    • Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard) are accepted in most mid-range to high-end hotels, restaurants, and shops.
    • ATMs are widely available in major cities.
    • Currency exchange is possible at the airport, banks, or authorized exchange offices.

Tip: Avoid using old, damaged, or torn banknotes, as they are often refused for payment.

  • Domestic flights

If your tour includes domestic flights, the exact schedules, flight numbers, and relevant details will be provided in your travel documents.

Please arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure, bringing your passport and electronic ticket (or booking reference).

Baggage: Checked baggage allowance generally ranges between 20 kg and 23 kg, depending on the airline. Cabin baggage is usually limited to 7 kg.

Attention: Additional fees may apply if you exceed the permitted limits. We recommend checking the specific conditions of each airline (Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, Bamboo Airways, etc.) before your flight.

Flight schedules are subject to change by the airline. We will keep you informed in case of any updates.

  • Flight Connections

If you have a connecting domestic flight in Vietnam, please follow these steps upon arrival:

    • Collect your checked luggage.
    • Proceed through immigration and customs.
    • Make your way to the domestic terminal (at some airports, this may require a walk or a shuttle transfer).

Airport staff are generally available to assist you if needed. Do not hesitate to ask for help.

Recommended connection time: minimum 2 hours 30 minutes
This allows sufficient time for possible flight delays, queues at immigration and customs, and transfers between terminals.

Practical tip: At major airports such as Hanoi (Noi Bai) or Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat), domestic and international terminals are not always located in the same building. Please allow ample time and follow the signs upon arrival.

  • Vaccinations & Personal Medication

No mandatory vaccinations are required to enter Vietnam.

However, health authorities recommend the following vaccinations, especially for long stays or travel in rural areas:

    • Hepatitis A and B
    • Typhoid fever
    • Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (booster shots recommended)
    • Rabies (in case of prolonged stays in rural areas or possible contact with animals)

If you are undergoing regular medical treatment, please ensure you bring a sufficient supply of medication for the entire duration of your stay.
Do not forget to carry your prescription, preferably in English, to facilitate any checks or medical consultations on site.

  • Malaria & Mosquitoes

The risk of malaria is very low in Vietnam’s main tourist areas, including Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Mai Chau, Pu Luong, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and the tourist areas of the Mekong Delta. No malaria prophylaxis is generally recommended for these regions.

However, if you plan to travel to remote rural, forested, or mountainous areas (for example, Muong Te in Lai Chau, certain border or isolated areas of the northern highlands, or deep areas of the Mekong), you should consult a doctor or a travel medicine clinic to assess the need for preventive treatment.

Tips to protect yourself from mosquito bites

    • Apply insect repellent to exposed skin containing DEET (30–50%), icaridin, or PMD (citriodiol).
    • Wear long, covering clothing, especially in the early evening and at night.
    • Sleep under a mosquito net, particularly in simple accommodations, natural settings, or places without air conditioning.
    • Use electric diffusers or mosquito coils in the evening in non-air-conditioned areas.
    • Avoid stagnant water near your accommodation, as it is a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
  • Airport Pick-up

Upon your arrival in Vietnam, our driver will be waiting for you at the airport exit, holding a sign displaying: “IZITOUR – [Your name]”.

Please take a moment to carefully check the signs at the arrival exit. If you have any difficulty locating our driver, do not hesitate to contact our assistance team, available 24/7, at the following number:
    +84 382 536 266 (direct call or WhatsApp available).

Practical tip: Make sure your phone is activated for international calls or internet access upon arrival to facilitate communication if needed.

Note: At some airports, several drivers may be waiting at the exit. If you do not immediately find our representative, please remain in the meeting area and contact us — we will assist you promptly.
