Join us on a 5-day journey to explore the major attractions in Siem Reap and its surrounding areas in Cambodia, where ancient history and vibrant culture converge. This itinerary includes visits to the Angkor complex, Phnom Bok, Koh Ker, Beng Mealea, and Tonle Sap Lake. You will be immersed in the rich heritage of the Angkor temples, the serene beauty of the countryside, and the unique traditions of the local communities of Cambodia.
Upon your arrival at Siem Reap Airport, you will be met by our driver and transferred to your hotel in Siem Reap.
Your guide will pick you up for a scenic Tuk Tuk ride around the charming suburbs of Siem Reap. Experience the local life and vibrant atmosphere of this unique city. The ride will culminate in a special blessing ceremony by Buddhist monks. This traditional ritual is intended to bestow happiness, prosperity, and safety upon you.
In the evening, you will dine at a local restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by a mesmerizing Apsara dance show. This classical dance performance is a beautiful representation of Khmer culture and history.
Wake up early in the morning for a transfer to Angkor Temple to enjoy the breathtaking sunrise. Afterward, return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. Once refreshed, head back to explore Angkor Wat, a magnificent temple complex built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city.
Following breakfast, continue your exploration of the ruins. Begin with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, and marvel at the impressive Bayon Temple, known for its towering faces. Then, visit the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Don’t miss the stunning Preah Khan Temple, with its maze-like corridors and beautiful carvings.
In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the enchanting Ta Prohm Temple, famously overgrown with fig and silk-cotton trees, which intertwine with the ancient stone structures. Conclude your day by savoring the serene sunset at Preah Rup Temple, where the warm glow of the setting sun casts a magical light over the ancient ruins.
After breakfast, we’ll drive toward Phnom Bok, a mountain temple built by King Yasovarman I in the late 9th to early 10th century. This temple is one of three significant mountain temples constructed on the hills of the Angkor region, showcasing the architectural brilliance of the era.
Upon arrival, you will embark on a short trek to the summit of Phnom Bok. The effort is rewarded with a panoramic view of the Angkor region, offering a unique perspective on the ancient city and its surroundings.
After descending, we’ll visit the Chres Village School, where you can interact with local students and learn about their educational environment. We'll then enjoy a picnic in the village, providing a chance to relax and absorb the local atmosphere.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the temple of Koh Ker, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. This remote site is less crowded and offers a more intimate experience of Khmer history and architecture.
For dinner, you have the option of dining at a local restaurant where a friendly Cambodian family will prepare a traditional meal, or you can choose to dine at the hotel, enjoying a selection of local dishes.
After breakfast, you will depart from Koh Ker and make your way to the Beng Mealea temple. This ancient temple, dating back to the early 11th century, is a fascinating site to explore, with its overgrown ruins giving it a mysterious, jungle-like atmosphere.
After your visit, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, savoring authentic Cambodian cuisine.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Pourk Monastery, a serene place of worship and reflection. After soaking in the peaceful ambiance, you will return to your hotel for some relaxation and refreshment.
Later in the evening, you will meet your guide once more for a rejuvenating one-hour massage in town. The day will conclude with dinner at another local restaurant, where you can indulge in more delicious local dishes.
We will spend our morning exploring the fascinating Floating Village on Tonle Sap Lake. Our boat trip will give us a unique perspective on the daily life of the villagers, showcasing their traditional ways of living on the water. Tonle Sap Lake, a natural wonder, provides a glimpse into the rich history and culture of riparian life while surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Cambodian countryside.
