Upon your arrival in Siem Reap, a major tourist hub in Cambodia and the gateway to the world-renowned temples of Angkor, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and driver at the airport. They will transfer you to your hotel for check-in.
Your guide will pick you up for a scenic Tuk Tuk ride around the charming suburbs of Siem Reap. Experience the local life and vibrant atmosphere of this unique city. The ride will culminate in a special blessing ceremony by Buddhist monks. This traditional ritual is intended to bestow happiness, prosperity, and safety upon you.
In the evening, you will dine at a local restaurant where you will enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by a mesmerizing Apsara dance show. This classical dance performance is a beautiful representation of Khmer culture and history.
Wake up early in the morning for a transfer to Angkor Temple to enjoy the breathtaking sunrise. Afterward, return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. Once refreshed, head back to explore Angkor Wat, a magnificent temple complex built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city.
Following breakfast, continue your exploration of the ruins. Begin with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, and marvel at the impressive Bayon Temple, known for its towering faces. Then, visit the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Don’t miss the stunning Preah Khan Temple, with its maze-like corridors and beautiful carvings.
In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the enchanting Ta Prohm Temple, famously overgrown with fig and silk-cotton trees, which intertwine with the ancient stone structures. Conclude your day by savoring the serene sunset at Preah Rup Temple, where the warm glow of the setting sun casts a magical light over the ancient ruins.
Heading out of town, we travel on a newly paved road to the intricately carved and well-preserved temple of Banteay Srei. Along the way, we stop at Preah Dark village, followed by a visit to Banteay Samre Temple, adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishnu and Krishna legends.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Roluos Group. The monuments of Roluos served as the capital of Indravarman I (reigned 877-889). Preah Ko, erected by Indravarman I in the late 9th century, was dedicated by the King to his ancestors in 880. Bakong, the largest and most interesting of the Roluos group temples, features an active Buddhist monastery just to the north of the east entrance. Lolei, built on an islet in the center of a large reservoir (now rice fields) by Yasovarman I, the founder of the first city at Angkor.
We will spend our morning exploring the fascinating Floating Village on Tonle Sap Lake. Our boat trip will give us a unique perspective on the daily life of the villagers, showcasing their traditional ways of living on the water. Tonle Sap Lake, a natural wonder, provides a glimpse into the rich history and culture of riparian life while surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Cambodian countryside.
