Upon arrival at Chiang Rai Airport, our local driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
We will visit the local market to explore regional products. Next, we will head to the world-famous Wat Phra Kaew, where the Emerald Buddha was once enshrined. We will then visit Wat Phra Singh, home to one of Thailand’s most beautiful Buddha images.
A short drive from Chiang Rai City will take us to Baan Dam, also known as the Black House. This unique site, created by national artist Thawan Duchanee, serves as an art studio, museum, and home. Baan Dam features an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings alongside strikingly modern designs.
We will embark on a boat cruise along the Mae Kok River to a Karen village, where you can observe and feed the elephants.
Afterward, we will return to Chiang Rai.
We will drive to Chiang Saen, an ancient city on the banks of the Khong River. Next, we will visit the House of Opium Museum, which showcases the history of opium in Thailand.
After lunch at a local restaurant in the Golden Triangle (at your own expense), we'll take a boat trip along the Mekong River to witness where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet at the Golden Triangle.
Afterwards, we will transfer back to Chiang Rai.
We will transfer you to Chiang Rai Airport for your return flight.
