Join us at the Victoria Can Tho Resort at 1:00 PM for lunch at Spices Restaurant. After lunch, the crew will warmly welcome you aboard the Song Xanh sampan with chilled towels and a refreshing drink as the boat begins its leisurely cruise along the river.
Take in the bustling boat traffic and the serene, constant activity along the riverbanks. Enjoy a stop to visit an ancient house, then head ashore on Son Islet. Here, you can stroll through a charming village, explore fish farms, and see vibrant vegetable gardens. Walk along the island’s picturesque paths for an up-close view of rural life.
Back on the sampan, continue your journey down the Hau River, observing local life as you pass fishermen checking their daily catch against the backdrop of a stunning sunset. This evening, dinner will be served onboard. Relax and enjoy the tranquility of the river as you spend the night on the water.
At around 6:30 AM, set off early to reach the famous Cai Rang Floating Market at its liveliest. Breakfast will be served on board as the Song Xanh navigates among dozens of local barges loaded with rice and other products from the Delta. Next, we’ll cross the Hau River, passing charming villages, to visit a family that specializes in making delicate tofu skin, a versatile food product created by boiling soy milk.
Continue the journey by sampan, observing the bustling boat traffic and the steady, quiet activities along the riverbanks. Enjoy shore excursions to gain insights into the local way of life, including a stop at a Cao Dai temple.
Lunch will be served on board as we cruise towards Vinh Long along a narrow canal teeming with life. Stop along the way for a shore excursion to explore the countryside. Return to the Song Xanh sampan and visit a clay pot factory before crossing the Co Chien River.
End the day with a sunset cruise as the Song Xanh makes its way towards the Tien River. Dinner and an overnight stay will be on board.
After enjoying breakfast on board, take a rowing boat along the canal or stroll further into the village to observe locals crafting traditional handicrafts, such as hammocks and handbags made from water hyacinths. Continue your journey to Phu An village, making stops along the way to explore local cottage industries. Here, you'll see how Delta products like rice and coconuts are transformed into delicious snacks, including puffed rice and chewy coconut candy.
The cruise concludes at Le Longanier Restaurant, where lunch is served in a charming riverside colonial-style villa. Nestled within lush tropical gardens and surrounded by fruit plantations, this setting evokes the refined lifestyle once enjoyed by the privileged elite during Indochinese times.
